If you love traveling and love nursing, then a traveling nurse could be just right for you!
There are many benefits of choosing this way to work. You get to travel to many different places as
opposed to seeing the same surroundings for years.
The jobs have varying lengths, from a few
weeks to a year.
The money can also be good for traveling nurses, because a lot of the benefits are seen as drawbacks
for others!
Obviously your skill level and the job concerned will be factors, but pay of $20-$50 is there for the taking.
Some agencies will pay you bonuses at the end of the job, and signing on bonus as well.
It's in the agencies best interests to hang on to someone who does a good job, so they are prepared to make it worth your while to stay with them -
you may get other incentives like housing packages, paid holidays.
If you have friends in the industry
you may get commission for referring them to your own agency.
A lot of agencies will offer good health packages too, maybe fully paid medical insurance, also dental,
vision, life cover, the list can get quite impressive if you are worth it as a traveling nurse!
If that's not enough, you may get retirement plans, car roadside relay services, time off for subsidised
education, you can see the benefits are tempting!
That's quite apart from the fun bits of being a traveling nurse - the traveling!
You get to work in and see all sorts of areas.
It makes you realise that the world is bigger than just
the one location you had before, and you can soon build up an impressive photo album of snaps!
If you choose to be a traveling nurse, you certainly can reap the rewards.
There is a high demand for traveling nurses, the main reason being that it does require a level of commitment.
It may be fun, but will take you away from you home and all that is there for you, so the
benefits *have* to be there to make it worthwhile.
It's also important to do good research when you select your agency.
Bear in mind all the benefits it's
possible to get, and check whether your potential agency offers them - if not, then maybe you need to
ask why not!
Speaking to nurses already on their books is a great way to find out what they really
offer!
They say a change is as good as a rest, and while being a traveling nurse may be attractive to new
nurses, it also has benefits for old hands in the industry, who are maybe burnt out at seeing the same
walls for year after year, and taking a spell on the road gives a great recharge to the batteries!
