    Hi There,

I hope everything is ok wherever you are today.

Thanks for your continuing emails, I love your feedback, so
don't hold back on anything you feel like saying!
I got a great email after last week's issue, thanks Jakki.

Jakki was talking about the boat with an outboard engine
analogy I had used to describe various states of direction and
    motivation.
She said that she often found herself in the category of being
full steam ahead, only to have the engine cut out!
However, and this is the important bit, unlike my analogy, she
didn't find herself totally back where she started.

It's a vital difference, taking any action can change us in huge
ways, and even if one plan doesn't quite go to, er, plan, we are
still further forward than we were before, and better equipped to
    try again.

One category I mentioned last week which doesn't apply to any
reader, is the type where there is no direction in life, and no
    motivation.
Believe me, anyone reading this newsletter is doing so because
they are *not* in that category, so it's up to you how far
    upstream you want to travel!

I'm finding it strange adjusting to 1 issue a week after spending
well over 2 years putting out 3 issues a week.
I had got the length of the newsletter to one that suited me,
pretty much giving me space for one idea per issue.

Now I find myself having to decide between sticking to the same
length as before, and cramming the ideas in, or writing a longer
    issue.
No doubt over time, I will come to a natural outcome, so bear
with me while I settle in to the new routine!

When I put this issue in the archives, I think I might call it 'Land
    On Lynn Terry'.

    I've often mentioned Lynn Terry.
Lynn and her luscious Southern accent were a great help to me
    when I first started online.
Unfailingly helpful, she gives great advice, and is genuinely
    willing to help people.

I was catching up on her letters in my email, and I came across
    some free software she mentioned.
In January, Google changed the goalposts of their adwords
system, and it basically increases the need for landing pages.

A landing page is where instead of sending a potential customer
to a company's page direct, you send them to your own page,
where you can presell the product/service.
So they 'land' on your page!
Some people shy away from these if they are not to proficient
    with html.
This software does it all for you.

Personally, I create my own pages, I like that extra control, and
incidentally, Lynn was one of the people that helped me on
    *that* particular learning curve!

The software is well worth a look.
It's no cost, although you can make a charitable contribution if
    you want.
I could just direct you to the sofware page, but I'm not going to.
Instead I'm directing you to Lynn's newsletter, because she
constantly gives rich content about internet marketing, and if
you haven't yet discovered her, you should!

That issue is archived, with a sign up box, at:
    Lynn's Archive Issue

Ok, I still want to talk about how I can connect the British online
marketer Martin Avis to thievery and the Hindenburg airship at
the same time(!), also tying in the evolution of the concept
    of 'zero'.

That will have to wait for next week's issue, so until the time for
that thief's issue, I'll leave you with the reminder again to get
    acquainted with Lynn Terry:
    Lynn's Archive Issue

    'Til Next Time,
    Health and Happiness,
    Gordon
