    The Great Gordino Newsletter - Issue 303 - Wed 16th Mar 2005
    ***************************************************
    Hi There,
Spring seems to be taking a good hold this week, and I hope
you are well wherever you are.
I had a little giggle yesterday, when I read one of the many
    online newsletters I subscribe to.
I was busily nodding in agreement to the points about goal
setting and rules to live your life by, when I saw my name
    appear.
'Uh-Oh' is my usual first reaction to that, but fortunately it went
on to give a great recommendation for this newsletter!
    Bordering on 'glowing', it was.
I'm going to return the favour.
The newsletter concerned is Kick Start Daily, written by Martin
    Avis.
Martin only lives a short way from me, and has vastly more
experience than me in the marketing fields.
Er, not that I'm saying he's old, he's just had an offline career of
consulting, so he knows his stuff well.
His newsletter comes out Mon to Fri, and has bite sized nuggets
about marketing, inspiration, and particularly amusing is his
strange fact of the day section.
Martin also likes to enjoy the funny things in life, and in today's
issue he metions his recent encounter with a huge 350 pounder
    in a sauna!
Personally I can't be doing with saunas, I always walk in and
think 'ooh no, too hot for me!'
I won't spoil Martin's story, get yourself over and sign up to his
    newsletter:
    Kickstart Daily
Incidentally, how much do you think I gain financially from that
    recommendation?
    The answer is... nothing.
    Zilch.
    Nada.
    Bugger all.
I do because I believe it, and that's one of *my* rules!
It's this next bit where I'm hankering for money!
Unusually for me, I'm going to out and out ask you for money.
The Budget was announced today, where the Chancellor reports
on the country's finances, and outlines his plans for the year
    ahead.
It was unmistakably a pre-election budget, and the 'finger
pointing', 'yaa boo sucks' back and forth between the parties is
    in full swing.
Playground politics I call it, and it drives me up the wall, which is
one of the reasons I'm standing in the upcoming election.
A few places down from the Chancellor, I could see an MP called
    Paul Clark.
He's my MP, and I'd love to replace him in around 6 weeks.
My election platform is simple, and it's that as an Independent
MP, I could better represent my local constituents in Parliament,
because I would be free to vote how they told me, whereas a
party MP is obliged to vote in line with the party view.
I have yet to speak to anyone about it who has put up a strong
argument against that logic, and I am more and more
    encouraged.
My main problem will be getting the message across to enough
people, with limited time, and limited resources of a one man
    campaign.
I've been so encouraged by messages of support from people,
that I've decided to make this plea.
If you agree that the principle of my campaign is a powerfully
democratic one, it would help me tremendously if you could
make a donation of around £5 (approx $9).
This would help to pay for the publicity materials I will need to
    succeed.
Electoral rules mean that I can accept a donation of under £50
from anyone anywhere, and I thought that around the £5 mark
is a small token donation individually, which would add up if they
    arrive in big numbers.
I'll give my election website address again:
    VoteGordonBryan.com
This has a donation button at the bottom of the page, which will
direct you to paypal, where you can make your donation.
It would also help if you could direct as many people as possible
to my site and campaign, the word of mouth and
recommendation characteristics of the internet are astonishing,
and I want to tap into it as much as possible for support.
If you don't feel you can make a £5 donation, the simple act of
moral support and sending traffic my way would be appreciated.
I must admit I feel strange writing so blatantly about politics in
my newlsetter, and asking for money like that, but I believe in
what I'm doing, I believe it's an opportunity for me and for the
70,000 people who live around me, and it ties in with my areas
of passion - self improvement, goal achievement and wealth
    creation.
That's it for today, and here's the thought - do you support me
enough to donate £5 (approx $9)?
    'Til Friday,
    Health and Happiness,
    Gordon
