    The Great Gordino Newsletter - Issue 302 - Mon 14th Mar 2005
    ***************************************************

    Hi There,

I hope everything is OK with you this Monday.

Last week I talked about backing up your data, I went past the
300th issue, and I featured the fascinating story of Hedy Lamarr.
If you missed any of them, fear not, they can be read via the
    main archive above.

It's a lovely morning here in my part of the UK.
I went out earlier, and the sky was blue, and there was a lovely
    Spring warmth on my face.
It's the kind of weather that makes you smile and take in a
    deep breath.
It makes a change from the recent cold, that kind of cold where
you go out and suck your cheeks in, looking like you're sucking
    a lemon.
    (or maybe that's just me).

I was watching last weeks episode of 'The Apprentice', and was
taken back to my first entertainment days.
The teams were challenged with organising a day's retail in the
    Harrod's store.
One of the teams found themselves lagging a mile behind the
    other team.
They asked the store staff for advice, and were given a large
    bear costume.
One of the team put it on, and the sales came rushing!

My first job in entertainment was dressing up in one of those
    furry costumes for 7 months.
    I absolutely loved it.
When I first started, I was very nervous to say the least.
I had no experience in entertainment, and had got the job
mostly by talking my way in.

It didn't take me long to get into the swing of it though.

Getting paid to stand in a car park in a furry alien costume at
7.30 am was my idea of fun, and inside the costume, I was
    smiling all day long.
It was so hot inside the costume, we had to wear an inner lining
    and cotton clothes under that.
The sweat would soak through the inner lining, and after a 45
minute session, it has soaked through the outer furry costume
    as well!

Then, and this is the good bit, you took the costume off, and
someone else had to go out in the same costume!

Oh yes, it didn't take long for the glamour of showbusiness to
wear off, but I *still* smiled as I eased into a furry costume
soaked with someone else's, er, dampness, because I was
doing what I was passionate about!

Something else I taked about last week was me toying with the
idea of standing for Parliament in the upcoming election.
I have lots of ideas all the time, most of them are crazy, but my
first reaction to any of them is 'why not', and the more I
asked 'why shouldn't I stand for MP?' the more the idea took
    hold.

I've knocked up a little website, so if you fancy, go over and
    take a look.
Let me know what you think, good or bad, I'm still in the
    brainstorning stage.

Ok, that's it for today, and here's a thought - are you
passionate enough to put up with the 'dampness?'

    'Til Wednesday,
    Health and Happiness,
