    The Great Gordino Newsletter - Issue 251 - Fri 5th Nov 2004
    ***************************************************
    Hi There,
Friday rolls around again, and I hope you are well.
    1605.
No presidential elections back then, it was proper Kings and
Queens time, when you came to power after the death of the
    person before you.
In the case of King James, he became the first King of England
*and* Scotland after he had his mother executed, and Queen
    Elizabeth the first had died.
This led to the United Kingdom, and I discussed the evolution of
our flag back in Issue 230.
I'm sure you remember it well, but if you don't, I titled the
archive issue 'Are You A Drone?' and you can see it here:
    Are You A Drone?
Anyhoo, back to 1605, and King James is about to be blown to
smithereens by a Catholic plot....except that the King already
    knows about it.
The plotters are rounded up, and exectued slowly and painfully.
How did the King know about it?
Well, one of the plotters had blabbed, that's how.
A good example of why you should only reveal your goals and
plans to people who support you, and don't bother discussing
them wth people who you know are negative.
The reason I use this particular example is that today, the 5th
November, is when the plot was foiled, and bonfires were lit
around the country to celebrate the King's safety.
Here in the UK we celebrate Bonfire Night tonight, and let off
loads of fireworks in lieu of the explosions that *didn't* take
    place 399 years ago.
Today also sees the launch of a new run of The Simpsons on TV.
    Hurragh!
It's been many months since the show was last seen on
terrestrial TV, and apparently the station paid a whopping
    £700,000 per episode!
It was only recently that Matt Groening said he would be ending
the show after nearly 20 seasons.
What a huge industry it has turned into after all the frustration
he went through at the beginning, and its' humble beginnings.
Can you cash in on the popularity of The Simpsons?
    Of course you can!
Just think of how many little niches you can work with, from
    collectibles, through toys, merchandise, etc.
You can sell brand new, through affiliate programs, or you can
    sell via eBay.
Personally I use the affiliate method,as it means I don't have to
hold any stock, but my mate from the North of England, Kim
Standerline, is a big eBay fan, and she uses it well.
In fact she is shortly to run a teleclass about it, and I'll give you
the details in due course, but whether you enjoy The Simpsons
or not, there's money to be made from that yellow family!
OK, that's it for today, and I leave you with 3 thoughts.
Firstly, is The Simpsons a niche you are interested in?
Secondly, do you expose yourself to negativity?
Thirdly, if you are out and about watching fireworks tonight, yes,
that pile of leaves might have dog poo at the bottom, but jump
into it anyway, life's all about taking a risk!
    'Til Monday,
    Health and Happiness,
    Gordon
