    Hi There,
I hope all is ok where you are.
I spent a lot of time thinking about what to write today.
Normally as you know I look for the positive in every situation,
but I found myself struggling to find positives from the
devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in the US.
Billions of dollars worth of damage, with the loss of life likely to
    run into tens of thousands.
It doesn't seem right to not mention it, and yet it doesn't seem
right to mention it and then carry on in my normal jockular way.
Is it the right time to be looking at the preparations for this
worst case scenario facing New Orleans, which was predicted as a
    potential major US disaster?
Maybe, maybe not, but a demonstrably poor response to the
disaster would beg the need for urgent re-assessment of other
contingency planning, and it's probably not too soon to start that.
One thing struck me as I watched the news reports.
The population of New Orleans, many of whom had very little
wealth to start with, have had it all taken away.
They have nothing but the clothes they stand in.
I was struck though, by the number of them who were giving
thanks that they were alive, and it's this I want to focus on.
Concentrating on the positive is a powerful technique, as it trains
the brain to do this all the time, leading you to be more content,
    and make more positive decisions.
A good way to develop this technique is simple - practice!
It may sound corny, but in the light of those poverty stricken
New Orleans survivors giving thanks for life, here's what I'll be
doing this week - concentrating on the positive.
Everytime a negative thought crosses your mind, acknowledge it,
and then deliberately counter it with every positive thought you
    can make about the situation.
The negatives aren't meant to go away by you doing this, but it
will redress the balance and you will find, if you do the exercise
thoroughly, that all the positives will outweigh the negatives.
A lot of people dismiss this idea, but most of them dismiss it
without trying it, and trying it properly.
I had a postive experience last week, when I went on my
    partially sighted date.
She turned up, which is always a good start, and I could see
instantly that she was as attractive to me in real life as she was
    on her site picture.
We went and had a few drinks and a chat.
It was a lovely evening, and I felt really comfortable, I didn't
feel at anytime that the 'real me' was going to not be good
enough, that I had to pretend in any way.
Hopefully she feels the same, and I'm looking forward to
    hopefully seeing her again.
So, all in all, considering that was my first date in 3 years, it
    went well!
Today's issue is a short one.
Basically because I wanted to concentrate on the powerful idea I
want you to try this week.
Remember to focus on the positives in every situation.
When you feel negative, take a deliberate time out, make the
effort to stress the positives to yourself, think of the wealth of
    abundance you have.
The ups and downs of life are part of life, but consider the
people from those southern US states, and ask if things are
*really* as bad for you as you think.
    Have a good week.
Oooh yes, before I forget, my new autoresponder, does not
allow me to import the leads from my present one.
This means I have to import them manually!
That's a real time consumer, so I'd appreciate if you could
    subscribe to the new responder.
All you have to do is send a blank email to:
