    Hi There,
I hope everything is ok where you are.
So, here we are - 2006!
    Happy New Year!
I hope you had a good holiday, I can tell you it was a veritable
orgy of chocolate at my place.
My self imposed rationing of one chocolate bar a day goes out
of the window at Christmas, although I do have to pay the price.
I had a spot of biblical proportions on my nose, blimey they
could have made an epic Hollywood blockbuster about it.
A lot of people have said to me that to claim that chocolate
brings on spots is an old wives' tale.
Well, you wouldn't be saying that if you'd had the misfortune
to see my Vesuvius inpsired nose.
In fact, I'd go so far as to say that to call the chocolate/spots
relationship an old wives' tale, well *that's* the old wives' tale.
Here's a thought, presumably you have to be an old wife to be
knowledgable about such things, but would my ex-wife count?
Surely she could be described as my old wife?
She wasn't averse to the chocolate either let me tell you.
Of course the one subject which always comes up at New Year
    is resolutions.
Everyone laughs about them, usually freely admitting that
they only ever last a few weeks at the very most.
    Hmm...
I could write a book about it (well in fact I did!)
There are many tools and techniques to use to make resolutions
stick, but instead of looking forward to 2006, or rather
*before* looking forward to 2006, I want you to look back at 2005.
How did the year go for you?
    What happened to you?
    What did you achieve?
All the events and circumstances of your 2005 were a result
    of your decisions and actions.
You may not think so, but they were.
Consider those events of 2005 as results - were they random
    results, or rampant results?
Were you buffeted by circumstance, or did you achieve specified
    targets by following a plan?
Ok, now look foward to 2006.
Do you want the same results?
If so, carry on doing the same things.
If you want different results, you have to take different actions.
Does that sound a bit glib?
Sorry if it does, but that simple concept is one of the most
powerful thoughts you can have to create the 2006 you want.
I want you to try a little experiment.
Right now, as you read this, fold your arms.
Then unfold them, and fold them again.
In all probability, you didn't think twice about the action of
folding your arms, and also you would have folded them the same way.
It wasn't something you had to consciously think about.
Now I want to fold them again, but this time fold them the *other* way.
This time you'll probably have to think about it to get it right,
and it won't feel at all comfortable.
For the forseeable future, whenever you notice that you have
folded your arms, unfold them and fold them the other way.
The ripple effect of this isn't huge.
By that, I mean that it won't have much impact on any other
    circumstances.
It will keep reminding you though, that although a change can
feel uncomfortable to start with, it soon feels more natural.
It's this concept which you can transfer to other aspects of
your life, where a possibly uncomfortable action *will* have a
    big ripple effect.
    I hope you have a good 2006.
Consider what you want to achieve, consider when you look back in
early 2007, do you want to see random results, or rampant results?
Ok, that's it for today - get those arms folded!

    Health and Happiness,
