    Hi There,

    When a New Year starts, I always say that you only have to blink
    and it's April.
    Well, this year, I forgot to even blink and here we are!
    I hope April finds you well.

    It still seems likely that the UK election will be called on Monday,
    for May 5th.
    In fact, something extraordinary will have to happen for it *not*
    to be the 5th May.

    Once it has been officially announced, the official campaigning
    can start, and I will have 4 weeks to try and convince the 70,000
    local voters to vote for me.

    I will be facing an uphill battle.
    The main political parties have been campaigning in all but
    name for weeks now.

    A lot of electors think that voting is a waste of time, because
    politicians don't listen.
    Other voters think that they only have a choice of the 3 main
    parties.

    Those are formidable challenges to overcome.
    It's not as if I could just throw money at the problem either.

    Er, well maybe it is...

    The only way I can get the message across to enough people in
    time, is to spend money.
    The more I spend, the more people I can reach.

    The message I'll be preaching, is that as an Independent MP, I
    can vote in Parliament free of Party influence, and this means I
    can better represent the views of the local constituents.
    It's a powerful point, and it gives me the chance to make a
    difference for 4/5 years for 70,000 people.
